I am interested in knowing who reads my blogs.
My stats tell me there are people from different countries who have been by here; but who?
Have you been here before, or was this your first visit?
What was it that interested you in looking at this page?
Was it by chance or was it a key word from Google/Bing,etc?
I am asking so I can improve my writing style according to who my readers are.
I would like to know what people from around the world are seeking.
I seek Christ and blogs which promote His teachings and positive family values.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post, and I hope you take a minute to post a comment so i can be encouraged to continue writing.
Love and blessings,
Lori LC

I have so much more to learn...
As the sun set this lovely Spring evening, I noticed the moon looked quite round and bright.
I just had to get a few pics before the clouds rolled in.
I told my family I had to go to the store and would be taking pics of the moon on my way.
I gathered my gear and headed out the door. I knew the best spot would be away from other light sources, and away from interfering wires and buildings. But, I chose a nearby parking lot down the street close to houses and a store. You can know right now that the images will be less than ideal, but I was in a rush and just wanted to get to taking pictures.
I set up my tripod along the side of the lot, away from the wires and beside the tree. Attached the remote shutter and sat on the side of my van door.
After shooting a few, I looked at them and noticed they looked more like pics of the sun than the moon. I changed the white balance from daylight to shade, and then to cloudy. They still came out wrong. I changed the iso to 100, but they still were not right. UGH! What do I have to do to get a decent shot of the moon?! Shutter speed?Aperture setting? Night shots? No matter what I tried, they just came out lousy. I finally got frustrated enough I came close to tossing the camera in the van, tripod still connected. I heard someone across the lot tell someone there was a photographer taking pictures of the moon. I laughed to myself and thought, 'Where?'
After going to the store, walking off my steamed up brain, I went home and tried a few more shots. The problem was, I lost my shutter remote! it's not at the lot, store, the van, parking space. Gone! What a let down. The next one will have a tether so it will be easier to remember to put back in the bag.
Here are a few pics, just know, they are not very good. I'll improve with time, so these will be good for me to look back on and compare how much better I'll get.
Thanks for reading this amateur post , I am encouraged in knowing someone has been here to see them, and would appreciate a comment of what you think of it.
Love and blessings,

UPDATE: I took pics the next night and got much better results. I waited until an hour later and wasn't as rushed. Wish I could say I found my shutter remote :/

Name that nature pic...
As I walked around my street this fine April noon, I found signs that Spring is well under way.
I heard many different bird songs fill the air, and I watched as they flew and twirled around in their mating dance routines. They reminded me of the part in the movie Bambi, when owl said they were all 'twitterpated'! I smiled and enjoyed the show. I also noticed many plants starting to grow buds. I knew most of their names, but there were a few I'm not sure about.
There are a few pics posted below, with numbers under each one.
See if you can identify what they are and write your answers in a comment below.
Thanks,
Lori LC

Too many trees block my full view.
I am determined to find a clear place to shoot the sunset and am looking forward to sharing those pics here.

Bird feeder raid..by a hungry Squirrel!
I watched this guy inhaling the seed in this feeder.
He didn't mind my watching until he saw my Canon.
He high tailed it across the clothes line, nearly slipping off a few times.
He looked ticked off that his lunch feast was disrupted.
I'm sure he'll be back.
It amazed me how it was able to hold on to the line as it ate upside down.
Looks like its toes and tail are what it's using to keep from falling.
It gave me the stink eye for making him not only stop eating, but nearly plummeting to the ground.

It almost lost its footing as it scrambled across the line,
trying to keep its eyes on me, the line, and the tree.
Looks mighty unhappy lunch was disrupted! |

Spring in New England..
Anyone brought up in New England knows the weather is likely to change from day to day, even hour to hour.
It can start out sunny with a hint of sweet Spring blossoms,
only to turn cool and grey with a hint of sleet and slush.
This week started off sunny and mild, warn enough to go out with a sweatshirt.
Wednesday was still sunny, but cooler, time to put on a light jacket.
Thursday was overcast and chilly, with a call to wear a jacket.
Today, Friday, it snowed, sleeted and rained, making the roads treacherous!
Definitely winter jacket weather.
I shot several birds around the yard (with my camera, not hunting),
I am drawn to taking pics of the scenery almost on a daily basis.
here are a few pics from this week:
What kind of birds frequent your area?
Thanks,

Baby pics of my great-nephew :)
I went to visit my nephew's new baby in hopes of creating my first baby photo shoot.
I had visions of posing him in cute poses with soft blankies and a cute little hat.
What I wasn't planning on was walking in during his pre-feeding time fussiness.
He is so adorable, I held him while his bottle was being warmed. I was happy he calmed down as I hummed and sang a lullaby. It was mesmerizing to me how relaxed he became, until he realized he was still hungry! He started crying and finally settled down when his daddy lovingly gave him his mid day meal. I didn't quite get the pics hoped for, but did take the few below. The mom and dad are first time parents and were thrilled to talk about sleep and diaper routines. We shared a few mishaps about changing a boy and getting soaked, and how we can just sit and watch them sleep peacefully and sigh at the joy of seeing them so calm and quiet.
Have you gone for a shoot and it didn't go as -planned, but worked out in the end?
